How do I get the network working in mediaplayerpro?

I mean, I've set up the IP addresses correctly and gateway etc...

I am trying to get my PS2 to connect to my NAS (hacked Linkstation running Debian) and it either restarts mediapl* or just hangs

I have mt-daapd (for my Roku), swisscenter (for my Linktheater) running on the NAS, trying to connect to there ports hangs it - I know the project got killed by some doughnut, but did/does network streaming, as it will be, work?
