Office Depot
Maxell 15-Pack DVD+RW/-RW -$6.99
Office Depot 25 CD-R/75 DVD+R/-R Combo Pack -$14.99

Office Max
Bunch of HP DVD's

That looks like it is about it...Best Buy, Circuit City, and CompUSA all garbage. Crappy sales this week and crappy sales next week. I need a 100 pack of Sony!

some members here swear by Ritek..... I only use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Sony .... the ones made in Japan or Verbatim (Taiwan/Singapore). here is a media guide that will tell you more about quailty media:

Creaky..... according to THEM they just updated it..... but I understand that their guide is just a loose refferance to what is out there. At least you can tell what's decent and what's crap! I only use it as a guage to show others what's what. Nothing more and don't use it as the GOSSPEL of all media quality. Sooooooo I agree with you ...... but untill there are other media guides out there I will keep using this one. show me better and I'll use that, too! And this is one thing that AFTERDAWN should look into doing. Then we can really see what's what!

edit- lightning quick update for me (all it needed was a glance at the new list) - my God - it does look much more accurate !

I've used about 100 of the Ritek 16X (Office Depot) disks and they score consistantly from 96-99 using a Sony DRU-800a (Lite-on rebadged) burner. Heck, at $19.99 on sale you can't go wrong can you?

- exactly why i initially the dismissed it's use, thought they'd never update t. docTY has a post or few on the subject, there's been some quite heated discussion/debate with the maintainers of that page by a few members. The maintainers must have finally seen the light :)

I emailed them a couple of times asking when they would update..... the were nice but they said it takes soooooo much time to get all the data in and analyze it and come up with what they deem is good. what ever.... it's a guide..... use it as a guage to what's out there. that's all ...... made me more aware of Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim and how good they are! So I only use those disks! Just my 2 cents...... as Mort used to say!

Seems like a good deal on the OD disks. How are the CDRs?

When evolution selects its agents, it does so at a cost, makes demands in exchange for singularity, and you may be asked to do something against your very nature. This force, evolution, is not sentimental. Like the Earth itself, it knows only the hard facts of life's struggle with death. All you can do is hope and trust that when you have served its needs faithfully, there may still remain some glimmer of the life you once knew.

It's a mixed bag and I don't think i'll take the chance.

chayne04, it's cool. There may be a way to differentiate between the good and bad manufacturers (see, NexxTech). If there is, i'm sure it will be discussed here.
