Hi, I used DVD Shrink and also DVD Decrypter to backup some of my collections. I did that because it would be save in case the kids scratched the backup disk I still have the original. Unfortunately I couldn't make backup copy for Shaddy Dog and Eight Below. I could use DVD Decrypter to decrip them but the files were over 5G which I couldn't burn on DVD 5 disk. I found that these two DVD disks had dummy sectors in the beginning which caused DVD Shrink couldn't analyse them with infinite loop. Anybody has a cue to fix this problem?

@cameras,
Yes u can run the ripped files thru VobBlanker first and then open the folder created by VobBlanker to use with shrink and that will fix the problem.

Heres a guide(Just skip down to the VobBlanker part and start from there)

Yes you can use ripit4me or you can use 300bowlers links also.
If using Decrypter, was it an .ISO file?
VobBlanker I think only does the VIDEO_TS files so you would have to re-rip it using File (F) mode not ISo read. Then continue with Alkohols guide through blanker, then substitute your shrink program for Alkohols Nero recode program and you are back to doing what you know best.

@clone69---If you want to do movies over 4.7Gb why use any program besides DVDDecrypter(unless using its burning engine ImgBurn)?
I'm not familiar with Roxio anymore, does that version shrink a movie larger than 4.7 to a regular disc size?
DVDDecrypter is about the best program for doing dual layer discs especially for free.

when i started out backing up my collection, i ran into some problems but this forum helped me a lot. i now use AnyDVD to decode the dvd's then CloneDVD to rip them onto a disc. many programs are available to use so choose the one that you find to be the easiest. DVD Shrink and dvddecrypter will work for most dvd's anyway

if you have the DVD use Decypter as normal. This works perfectly.

You then open VobBlanker and choose the folder which has the files. You then create a new folder for the movie and run the files through VB. The movie is now ready to be burned.

I still use Shrink as it's what I know and does an acceptable job. The files will now load as normal and you can now get rid of all the crap. You should get Eight Below to burn at nearly 100% if you get rid of all the language support and directors voice over(yeah I really need that, this isn't exactly the Godfather. Excuse my arrogance).
