I have no idea how to read and interpret those error reports. But, if you are trying to rip and burn a new movie using just Shrink, that is probably what is causing the error. What movie are you trying to back-up?

hello,
Quote:
Disc Manufacturer: FUJIFI - LM03
Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR)
Power calibration error
All these errors are pointing to a Media Problem, which i see u are not using quality media heres the best media u can use.

Fuji(MIJ)

Also there is a firmware update for ur Burner, since it is a sony u should go to their website to download it and follow their instructions on how to install it, that might help with the current media u r using.

hello ledanek,

If those Fuji disk are max 4x speed then u should try burning them at 2x speed to see what happens.

Hi,

This is a Nero issue not shrink (reference the thread title)from the log he posted. Looking at the first post he is using an old version of nero:

Quote:
Nero API version: 5.5.10.56
Using interface version: 6.3.1.4
You are a few versions behind on Nero 6. Before installing use this link http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/en/Clean_Tools.html
Run the clean tool to completely remove your current version of Nero, reboot and use the links below to get the known stable version of Nero.

http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Ner....0.18_no_yt.exe

Package 2
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

Remember to write your Nero serial number down before you use the cleantool to completely remove Nero.

thanks matt72.
Unfortunately I cannot afford newer version of Nero.
I did updated my firmware and used a random Fujifilm disc from the 100pack and was finally able to burn those two movies.

I've read that no matter brand, 100packs tend to have a bad media once in awhile.

I have been saving for a newer Nero, but not sure version to get since I only burn data (pictures,mp3/iTunes) and some select movies that tend to be borrowed from my collections extensively by family and friends.

Newer versions of Nero have so much feature that I do not even understand how to use. I've been getting away with burning by following tutorials from ppl who have posted here, and clicking "NEXT" on the instructions. lol.
I'll try to spend more time here and learn more about burning stuff.
thanks a lot everyone.

@ledanek

glad you got some good backups using the fuji 100pack disks.

just want to mention that unless you are really attached to Nero for burning dvds (i know you use it for data disks and it works fine for that...), you might want to check out using some of the other dvd backup software available for FREE. namely, ripit4me (which decrypts and can burn with dvddecrypter or burn with the newer imgburn), or the dvdfabdecrypter -> VobBlanker -> shrink -> burn an iso image file with dvddecrypter or imgburn.

and, yes, you can learn these by doing one step at a time and clicking "next" in the guides! i know, that's how i learned!

best wishes for successful dvd burning.
