Hi, I've recently started thinking about getting a 360 and when I heard you could play backups on them already that swung it for me. As far as I can tell I have two options one is to buy a 360 and edit its firmware and the other is get a guy I know to install the team underdog modchip for me. The only problem is He wont be able to mod it till the 10th so I would have to wait a little while.

I'm just trying to get an idea of the advantages of each and to see if its worth the wait. I plan to use the 360 for online gaming so which would be better the modchip or fw?

Firmware for the win !

Right now you can play online with it without any problems.

In my personal opinion i'd prefer firmware over chip since i'm no good at soldering, plus firmware it's updateable easily. Most chips can't be updated (i know, some of them you can, but most you can't).

And, like BurningAs would say "firmware is free".

I think I'll go the firmware route as the modchip just seems to be a firmware chip. Then when a better modchips released I'll give that a try.

dont post in all caps it can get you banned.

It depends which drive you have in your 360 I think e.g. Samsung, Hitatchi

He's right about the CAPS, first of all. Second, we can't tell you where the firmware is, it's against the forum rules, i'd tell you to google it.

It comes with a README file that's pretty easy to follow, that could be your tutorial.

If a mod reads this, please, i would like to know if it's ok to make a firmware flashing guide, i just don't want to post one and getting banned for it. Since everyone rely on other forum's guides i thought we should have our own. Please PM me with your response, Thank You !
