I need solutions for the following problem: I have had problems with my DIVX movies since I installed the xvid codec. The movies starts up alright in full screen mode, but after three sec. it scrinks. A little later it flips upside-down and later again it flips left-right (so it does'nt even help to turn the monitor upside down ;)).
I want to rip out all my codecs to try to start over, but I'm not sure if i get it all out of the system.
The problem occurs no matter what player I use, and it is also the same whether I use ME or w2k (i have a dual boot setup).
So there you are gentlemen and -women: What can be done apart for waiting for death to come?

Is it possible that perhaps during encoding a little voodoo happened and the video was actually ouptuted all messed up? Have you tried playiong the movies on a different computer altogther that is confirmed to be able to play movies properply?

Yeah I've tried playing som of the movies on another computer, and it worked fine. I have just removed all of my previous codecs (again!!!) and installed the full k-lite pack. That might do the trick (at least partially), but I'll have to experiment some more.

Sounds like you need to uninstall -all- your codec packs. Especially the Nimo one if you have it. Then only install nic's xvid one.
