I don't think its possible to change it in your current account. The only way I can see this happening is by closing your current account and creating a new one. Unless the admin put that kinda option in the account settings.

Maybe you can suggest it.

Why? pimpmex is a cool name and it matches your myspace.com profile.Your only a junior member so starting over wouldn't be such a big deal.

Well, I wish we could ..."Gerry1" was hardly creative LOL! Whats worse, I think I had the original "Gerry" but forgot the password, or let the email account go or something.

yeah, there's no way to change your name. that's why it's important to pick a respectable and timeless name at first, lest you find yourself with a title unbefitting your matured personality later on. as said before, it's not too late: just stop using that nic and create another one.

*edit*
you could tell people on your profile what your new name is and move everything to there.

It would get out of hand though, because if everyone was changing names, nobody would know who's who..

Although I'd love to change my name to just "lethal" :-)

exactly, not sure i like the sound of anyone being able to duck and dive like that; on other sites it'd be fine but on one this big it would be a nightmare to track anything/anyone.

the original used name should be listed in our profile and shout box with the secondary user name.
would be a good way to track each users primary and secondary name.

@ireland - i hear ya, but the people who cause the most trouble around the place would be the ones who would take most advantage of this; not sure if it'd make life more difficult for mods at the very least....pondering....

the original user name will be tied in with the secondary name
so clicking on the secondary name will and should take ye to the original user name even in the banning program..both names will be listed.........do not for get the ip it can be of some help..

so if i change my user name to say "England" by clicking on the name it will say ireland..and then go to the shout box or if no shout bosx the original name will show.

Ye as long as you could link back to the original user at the click of a button then it wouldn't really be much more hassel to the mods than bannign them is anywho..would it?

Mayb our names can be altered in the way of when we setup an account we can put in our actual names and this would become our primary detail while not viewable to the public but withiin our own profile and for aD to know whos who. Also we can have alocated member numbers that can not change. but our nics would be kewl to change. When i created my account i mixed it up and thats y its not the nic i want but i just live with the choice i made.

If name changing was a possibility i would suggest doing it like eBay does it. You can change your name numerous times but after you change it a icon saying you changed your name will appear next to your new name for a month. Along with the icon it will say -1 (1 name change in a months time) or -2 (this name has been changed twice in a month) and once a user reachers so many name changes at a time his account is banned/suspened.

Yeah that would be a good idea. But you still may get confused with each person could get a number wrong like 2301 and it is actually 2310. If they numbers are slightly different you may still get confused.

on my site you can change ye user name a thousand times,
the mods can see who it is in a heart beat with out a problem
just by clicking on there user name..and go stright to a limited profile like for banning....only the admins can go into the profile.
as it will show the original name and the secondary name..

Yeah, but the mods have enough crap to deal with here, without having to click links to reveal someone's true eIdentity!

its a lot easier for a mod to click on a user name for all the info needed to do the mod stuff...then click on the other buttons..
cheers

p/s in the same area by clicking on a user name by a mod...there should be a place for notes if need be on the member..
example like warnings....

Oh do you mean like little markers like for example: you get a red sqaure if you just been warned and then it would show up under your name. That would be cool I saw something like that on another forum and people can give you rep (like reputation) and then the sqaure would be green and might say for example 345 respect. But I also saw like red sqaures that meant they got like minus rep I thnik that they got warned. So anyways that would be cool if we could have something like that here on afterdawn.

Arrgh, maybe I should invest in some creativity...
