Ok I am having a problem I have ripped the DVD i want just fine then i setn up the DVD2AVI thing fine, but when i get to the TMPG part i set up the template like i'm suppose to and put in the specs about the video type, etc... but when i hit start it the file is really short and only plays a quick couple seconds of the movie.

Can someone help me?? I have downloaded the plugin and installed it fine and everything I am just confused because of how short the ecoding part lasts

Have you followed the guide what we have on this site? If you have _exactly_ followed the guide, try using AVI.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">DVD2AVI 1.76 instead of 1.82.

P3/800 = Pentium III 800MHz

Yeah I have followed it and i know that the ripping part works just fine because i have the movie on here, its just when i convert it using the DVD2avi it must shorten the movie file and only gives me a little bit of it

Can you tell me how big the DVDAVI file should be? The biggest i could get is 1.1 MB

And yeah i've tried both versions of the DVDAVI program

Yeah, the file that AVI.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">DVD2AVI does when you use our method is really 0.5MB - 15MB -- it is NOT the movie, but a pseudo-AVI/d2v project instead for VFAPI. It is kinda complicated to tell if you don't understand the core idea behind VFAPI -- basically the d2v file is full of instructions how the actual file (VOBs) should be manipulated (so, instead of decoding the VOB into AVI, AVI.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">DVD2AVI creates instruction file called d2v that TELLS how the decoding _should_ be done). And the VFAPI plugin in TMPGEnc is the one that reads the instructions and provides the decoded AVI stream (on-demand -- it doesn't write the AVI to filsystem either, but decodes the video frame by frame for TMPGEnc's use) for TMPGEnc that then thinks it is a normal AVI video file and encodes it.

Do you think possibly because the DVD i'm trying to rip is a movie that just came out a couple weeks ago is the reason why its not working correctly??

Also i got the plug in for the tmpgenc and what i did is unzip it and extract it into the folder where i had the tmpgenc in and then clicked install and the dos window came up that said finished is that the right way to do it?

The problem is very likely with the VFAPI installation, try reinstalling it or something.. The DVD itself is not the problem, I would say if it ripped correctly. Sure you have all the ripped VOBs on your HDD still (those are required for the TMPGEnc)?
