hi i brought a liteOn DVD-RW and got it yesturday and fitted it in and i went to burn a disc just to see if it was working ok but for dvd's it will only burn at 1x when it is a 16x dual layer DVD-RW can anyone help me please.

Might want to try upgrading your firmware for the drive and what media are you using?

Also what's the model of your drive?

the media i use is verbatim (however u spell it) and the model is LiteOn DRW-6S160P-05C. also when i restart the computer is says that the atapti is incompatable but i checked the DVD-RW and its got atapit on it to is should make it compatable or do i have to do something to make it compatable

Ye the thing is I don't think they provide firmware for your drive...I checked around and the Lite on website, couldn't find a thing...

Do you have Nero? If so run Nero Info tool and post your log here. I'm not so good with Nero logs but I know people who are that will be able to help...

ok i found th problem its my processor its too slow for the DVD-RW but i just put in my old one which burns at 4x and i upgraded the firmware and went to burn something with it and it burns at 1x again went this one i only need 600mgz when i have got 1.2ghz so can someone help me plz
