hello people i have been looking over a few forums and most people have been posting that the pioneer 111d is the best burner or 360 back-ups,as i have a laptop i cxan't use thistype of burner at the moment i have an external LG GSA-2164D super multi drive that does dual layer burning.has anyone else had any luck with this type of burner.the other quick question is if i did buy a pioneer 111d could i make this into a external burner.thanks for reading..........sudeki300

If you're downloading them, you can burn them ok with that drive you have.

But to Rip the dvds you'll need the pioneer, or there's a few others, but that's preffered.

You can't use an external drive for ripping, as far as i know, since you have to open up the drive.

You could make it external, and it will work for burning, same as your other one, but for ripping it wont, again, since you need to open up the drive.

I use the pioneer drive externally, you just need an external caddy and use it with that. Works fine that way.
