this problem started a week ago.my computer was running really slow, so i did a virus scan with spysweeper and avast virus controller. they both came up empty. i did a disc cleanup, and a defrag. with still no help. i had a problem with my system going into pio mode instead of staying in dma mode. thanks to member" aabbccdd" he showed me how to clear this problem. i backed up a dvd last night and had to reset the dma mode again. i noticed my computer picked up a little better after that. the only problem im having now is that there is a 7 second delay on whatever i try to do with my computer. if i log onto the net a delay, when i get on the webpage,scrolling down there is the delay, starting a new program while 1 is running, a delay. what could cause this?

Could be spyware or it could be that you have too many programs running. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del > Click Processes tab > bottom left corner, how many processes are currently running.

If you supect a virus or spyware go here
Click "Direct Download"
Extract file to your desktop.
Run a scan and save a log file.
Post that log here.

I don't see anything bad. You could clean.

Go here download Ccleaner. Run the cleaner.

Scan with Ewdio.

Install and update.
Reboot in safe mode(press F8 upon, select "Safe Mode" from menu).
Run a scan.
If it finds anything set all items to delete and click "Apply All Actions".

Let me know what, if anything, it finds.

Hi Niobis, i cleaned my system with ccleaner and ran a scan with ewdio. it came up with 16 infections that my other 2 spywares didnt detect. my system seems to be running perfect again. no more delays and pausing between tasks. I LOVE YOU MAN!
