no not really its more indifference, there just totally irreverently to what i consider meaningfully music or music that will stand the test of time. at 50 years old I'm totally disconnected from music like Linkin Park or rap/hip hop etc.

do you see 50 plus year old white guys at a linkin park rap or hip hop show?

do you see 18 to 20 year old guys at a Johnny Winter show?

get my point lol

To be quite honest I think there's quite a lot of music that fits that description, and I also think you could do far worse than Linkin Park. That's not to say I'm a fan, I'm not, but nonetheless I think perhaps they receive the butt of your criticism of the modern music industry as a whole. As a general rule I don't like much modern music, but hey, I don't take it all out on one band!

just saw Great White mentioned a few posts up, i have all their stuff, used to listen to them a lot back in the 90's.

but for now it's some other old faves of mine, namely Fish - Childhood's End from an album i play a lot on my long journey's home on the motorway - Return to Childhood though i'm watching the DVD of it at the mo.. i used to play Marillion stuff endlessly in the 80's

plus Yngwie Malmsteen - You Don't Remember, I'll Never Forget, from the album Trilogy i think it was the mid 80's

..and to continue the oldies.. one of myh all-time fave Genesis tracks -

Genesis - Firth of Fifth from the Foxtrot album, 1973
