Imitation? I'm assuming you mean Imation and no, it's not good media. It's pure junk! Plain and simple. Good media = Verbatim, Tayo Yuden or any media made in Japan.
Imation buys A-grade from Ritek and CMC. If your drive is compatible with those MID codes, you will have no problem. If your drive is not compatible, you will have problems. Those who call these discs pure junk lack technical expertise unless they can specify what is deficient among the over 60 different test parameters.
ima-tation dvd/cdr's the cd-rs are crap so i would imagin the DVDR being bad if not worse... i try to stay away from products that i can buy a 50 spindle for 12.00$$$
