I tried looking up guides, but no luck on this.

When I open up an .avi file in GSpot, it says that the codec is "dvsd", the name is "DVC/DV video" and that "codecs are NOT installed". I can open the AVI and see it so I don't understand how I don't have a codec for it.

Just in case this might be affected: everytime I try to use TMPGEnc plus 2.5, using these .avi's, I get a blackscreen. any link between the two?
