i've been gone for few months but now iam back with a really confused head. i wanted to fix a hard drive to my ps2, where i can play my backup ISO straight outta hard disk. I decided this coz my ps2 is gettin older and don't wanna waste it's DRIVE to death. so fixing a hdd with my favorite games ripped in to it, it will be aight!, so i found this software in modchipstore.com saying it can play iso games straight out of USB fixed hard drive. Well will it work with a STANDARD HARD DISK FIXED TO USB EXTERNAL CASING. I hope you guys get what i mean since my english sucks.

it means, "Hard disk fixed to a external chasis which detects as a external HDD in PC, once plugged through USB", will that work with PS2 USB + That software i mentioned above?, or should i get a normal USB HARDDRIVE, that slim thin one which contains laptop hard drive.

where i live is pretty remote and stuff is very rare, i would really appriciate if you guys can give me some suggestions what should i do, i have a big model ps2, but no network adaptor coz i can't find it anywhere here. USB HARD DISK + SOFTWARE i can find. plz help me, thanks a billion in advance.

Do you have a modded PS2? Being remote, I think this will be your biggest hurdle, in order to use the software you will need the ability to run cd backups on your PS2. Also, check this thread out: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/348187

Ditto what Q4i said. You need a mod chip, and the USB drive stuff is about worthless, from everything I've read. I got the DMS4 SE Pro, which works very nicely with a hard drive (Latest ToxicOS loader seems to have high compatibility and it also supports Gameshark-like cheats)

Try eBay for the Network Adapter. I see plenty of "official" PS2 network adapters there for sale.

If it's already modded, you don't need to worry about the USB, just burn the program to CD and load it that way. HDLoader can probably be found at a torrent site or you might try SKSApps for something similar. you will still need a network adaptor to hook up the HDD.

I think what Q41 is missing is that you are trying to load games from a USB external hard drive... the problem is that USB External hard drives DO NOT WORK.

There are only one or two games that anybody has gotten to load over USB HDs.

A much better idea is to find a network adapter being sold over eBay and willing to ship to your location, assuming you have a "fat" PS2. If you have the newer slimline, you can get a "combo case" that has the network adapter (and the IDE connections) functionality build in - you just transfer the "guts" of your PS2 into it.
