hello everybody..
My drw wont see DVD up to 8,5 Gb. Somebody can help me? I've tried with DVD-/+R types, with any result.
What can I do?

Hello.

I'm not sure I understand your problem. Is the problem that your burner won't burn dual layer DVD9 media, won't read DVD9 media, won't recognized burned DVD9 media? Could you be more specific as to the specific problem?

Hi Laddy...
My drw wont recognize any dvd greatest than 4,7 Gb up to 8,5 Gb.
I've installed the fw version 330, but is the same.
I don't know if that's a problem of the drive or is a problem of the fw. Do you know if somebody have had the same problem with this 1108UI?

Hello again.

Don't worry about the English. Is it just burned dual layer > 4.7gb that the drive won't recognize? Does it recognize and play back commercially mastered (pressed) DVDs?

It wouldn't surprise me if the burner didn't read burned dual layer media as it doesn't burn dual layer media itself. It should be able to read commercially mastered or pressed DVDs however.

There is a newer firmware version, B430, available here:

OK. Let us know how you make out and whether the firmware upgrade helps or not. You didn't indicate whether the burner reads commercially mastered DVDs or not. If it doesn't, something is wrong.
