Do you need RAID for your computer to recognize your XBOX 360?

I am preparing to flash my 360 with xtreme firmware but I need to know if I need RAID on my computer. I'm pretty sure that I have it but am unsure. Can anyone tell me how I can tell??? THANX!!!

Actually it's better not to have RAID. It can work with or without it though.

so what exactly does RAID do for your computer??? So what exactly do you need to correctly backup your xbox 360 game. I have all of the firmware, all the necessary programs like clone cd, a dual layer burn, dual layer discs, a sata cord and a console. I also just purchased a SATA card for like 70 bucks because my computer would not recognize that i had my 360 hooked up to my pc via SATA cable. Do I really need this??? Why wouldn't my comp recognize that i had my console connected to my pc??? I don't know if I flashed it or not because my friend brought over some autoflasher firmware program so I am not sure if it flashed it or not. How can i check if it is flashed?

Do some searching. I successfully flashed my drive (Hitachi v59) by doing searching and not asking questions. Not bragging. Just saying it is possible. Which drive do you have?
