My compueter is virtually new got it in may. It cost £600 and its a dell (i cant stand dell but the parents disagreed) I dont know why these things are so slow please could you guys give me some help.

Also 2 times in the past 2weeks i have had a blue screen come up and say microsoft has came across a serious error and will now close all programs and reset your system

Two questions:

1. What did you use to check for spyware?

2. What are the reasons given for the serious errors?

I used 3 different spyware applications. Spyware Doctor,Spyware blaster and Amust 1.0 i uninstalled them about an hour ago due to commments i heard about spyware doctor making your system lag.

I dont know i just remember listen to some music on media player then clicking start and them the screen went blue and said 'microsoft has came across a serious error all applications will close and your system will be restarted.

At first st thought it would be my drivers but i used a dirver rest tool and it said that there was no errors on my drivers.

And now am stuck out of ideas and my computer is really starting to tick me off

I dont think its a spyware issue, it looks like you got what it calls the blue screen of death.

As long as the error doesn't happen all the time I wouldn't worry about it too much. Windows Media Player may have encountered a problem with a file and made it worse than it really was. If they continue to happen, then you should worry. :)

As for the slowness, go here and post back with the results. Note: do not load any sites or use any programs that might be using the internet while running the test.
