What methods do you all use when recording with the mentioned software? What steps to you use to create the DVD Movie with this? What menu selections do you choose? I'd appreciate some feedback, thanks!
ALso, i have succesfully been recording with Nero, i've never mentioned this before, nor seen it mentioed. Does anyone else get an error when creating a DVD movie with Nero. Everytime i get an error when it tries to write the Lead-out. Hasnt affected the movie though...
The great Oriphus - I kneel in your presence (or should I say Baa)
What are you recording - dvd's I expect.
There is loads, but the summary:
Tools/options/data disc:
Partial path
Use new volume as the default instead of load last track
Check if every file is readable before recording
Recognise the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders per dvd specification.
The above never changes (after closing) so I do not need to check them again.
I also have:
tools/options/general:
remember settings from last job
reselect the last recorder/reader
test reading speed before copying directly off a disc
Autorun shield checked
When I burn
Use the wizard to do on the fly - just make sure you have:
tools/options/wizard dvd - for one recording only etc etc etc.
To do a VIDEO_TS folder I:
Select data option
Select option - check that you have TAO closed selected (in dvd section)
I use joliet 106 etc etc.
Exit
Put name into dvd volume label
Leave multisession as new volume
Leave burn speed at max unless, I want to slow burn
Just have record there
Click on add files
Select relevant VIDEO_TS folder
Click the nice red spot - away you go...
Hope you can make that out any questions just yell
Cheers BaaBaa, how u keepin. I have used an earlier version and had heard very good reviews about 4.50 (given advice to use it also based on other peoples opinions), but i never really got round to using it and as such had an unsuccesful burn.
Thanks for the advice, i will try it.
By the way, do you use DVD Shrink? If so, have a look at the following guide i have created. I've given it to dRD and he re formating it and putting it in the guide section of afterdawn. However, i wasnt really sure about the multiple titles on one disc section. If you (or anyon reading this) has used multiple titles with DVD Shrink, id be greatful if you can give me some insight on it.
Click on above link, select Re-Author at bottom of page and select Multiple Titles at top of following page.
Also, ive notice an inherent problem with DVD Shrink when trying to compress already ripped vob's, basically it doesnt tend to do it! It will show you the files, but not allow u to compress.
Your guide reads very well - nothing too complicated.( I'll give it a go - when time permits)
Got some excellent men behaving badly, I'll try it out on....
Without experienced it, the multiple titles seems very obvious - so you select which titles and drag em over - does dvdshrink create these seperate titles as chapter markers and play each title one after another ? when compressed?
(cannot see where any menu is to select an individual title from)
I have read alot of people have ripped with DVD Decrypter then processed with dvdshrink and hit problems with the already ripped vobs.
This may just be down to certain information being ripped off which dvdshrink NEEDS/USES to compress - if you ripped a FULL disc with DVD Decrypter and tried to process - does the errors still occur - would be useful to find out exactly what causes this issue, however it is strongly recommended to use dvdshrink as a complete package - rip/reauthor/compress....
Hope that helps - probably not, will let you know when I have a play with it......Baaaa!
I haven't used it yet, but:
Is there really a guide needed for this?
I think it is very straight forward anyway - that'll be because, I am used to the lingo and process I suppose......
Very nice guide though - simple, step by step and thorough.....Congrtrats!!!!
I like the cutting of the credits part - another feature I didn't realise was there.
Just one point - Personally I would have the re-authored/compressed result going straight into a VIDEO_TS folder, this way users can just select that folder to burn, rather than dragging etc...
(create this folder before hand on the desktop or root drive etc..)
Other than that - I think it's tops - and should be posted - Nice one!!!!!!!
Just another note to you - regarding a multiple episode disc - will the episodes be marked up as chapters, ie 10 chapters in each of 4 episodes - so chapters will be 1 - 40...?
But seroiusly - going to do a full strip this weekend (whey hey ladies) just movie, then try a mulitple episode, I'll let you know how it goes...
