Hi,
I connected an Ipod shuffle to one of my usb ports and it seems to have stuffed up the usb system because a pop up keeps coming up saying " A usb device is not recognized". Now all my usb ports are not working. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this problem?

Thanks for any help

you can try going to device manager, uninstalling all your usb host controlers, rebooting and letting the usb controller re-install itself. If it is unsuccessful when re-installing then you will needa try and find updated drivers for your ports.

i personally got really peeved when something like this happened to me and wound up doing a system restore

I tried uninstalling the usb's but didn't work. So I ended up taking the computer to the people who built it and they somehow fixed it. Although they said they didn't do anything to it. They might have reinstalled the drivers. All my usb ports are working now. Thanks for your help Phantom 69.

Hi,
I don't think anybody is going to believe this but practically the same thing happened to another computer I have.
I plugged in a card reader and the usb ports stopped working the device manager says they are all working and in the BIOS it's saying usb's are enabled but the ports themselves are not recognizing anything.
Wether it's a usb flashdrive or camera.
Any ideas.
Thanks in advance
