Hi there everyone!

I'm having a problem with a DVD that was burnt in New Zealand, and flew over here to Ireland, and nothing seems to be able to read it. I have tried the disc in DVD Players - they will not load it. I've tried it in multi-region DVD Players - nothing doing.

A PC running Windows MediaCenter insists nothing is present, so does one with WinXP SP2.

Moving to a different track, I tried a Mac with OSX - no luck at all!
There is data there, the colour has changed on the underside.

The DVD was burnt by an elderly gentleman in NZ, and before I get back to him, I would like to try all avenues. Is it possible that, like with burning CDs, he has closed it so that only his computer can open it?

I'm new to DVD authoring myself.

Thanks for any help

Hi, the people in NZ burnt the DVD on a Panasonic dvd recorder DMR-E6 10 DIGA Region 4. They played it back on the machine it was burnt on, and it played ok. They didn't test it in another DVD Player.
Does anyone have any idea what I can do? They don't want to burn another DVD from their original VHS, or to copy the VHS & they say they don't have another copy.
Thanks

Or because this was done on a DVD Recorder he did not finalize the disk and therefore it will not play until it is finalized by the recorder.
