I have tried backing up ROME (Region 2 - 6 Disc Set)but i am having problems with the first disc.
I have tried dvd fabdecrypter and then DVD Shrink. Then i tried Ripitfor me and DVD Shrink.
Both times i got to DVD Shrink, but when i hit the back up button, the program freezes and shuts down (this has never happened before and seems to me to be just some new stronger encryption).
Anyone know how i can back this up? are there any other programs that defintely work?
Many Thanks,

When using RipIt4Me program did u use the FixVTS program too, u need FixVTS to clean out all the fake cells of the movie before it will work with shrink
Same thing too
Also after using DVDFab did u run the files thru VoBblanker(or FixVTS) before using shrink. If u get an error or shrink shuts down u probably have to clean and fix all the files before u use shrink.

Sharing my experience - I have backed up the first three discs of Rome thus far simply by using Shrink with AnyDVD in the background, and burning with Nero. All three have come out beautifully. Had no problem.

The fact that it opened in DVD_Shrink means that you have the files on the hard drive. What version of Shrink are you using? What version of Nero do you have?

dialysis 1 - I have been using Shrink 3.2. and Nero 6.6.0.18 and burning Nero at 4X. I tried a while back to upgrade my Nero, but the newer versions would not automatically burn from Shrink. I have had hardly any trouble with Shrink or Nero since I bought AnyDVD. Once in awhile I find a bad disc. Also have DVD Fab, DVD Decrpter, and VobBlanker in reserve. Have not tried Ripit4Me yet, although possibly will in the future. After reading this forum for a year, I bought AnyDVD, and it was the best investment for me. I have a Plextor 716A burner which was another great investment. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

Have Shrink burn with ImgBurn instead.

ImgBurn does dual layer burning better than any other program.

I appreciate that information for future reference. However, I have been using Shrink thus condensing the discs on one. I really don't see much loss from shrinage; but them again, I am not one who looks for perfect movies; I just enjoy watching the movie itself. I have only tried double layer twice; once it worked and once it messed up, but that was months ago. Maybe I'll try the double layer on a larger movie; but as of now, I am happy with the process. Thanks.

I cannot get disc 3 of Rome Season 1 to backup. I get "Get DVD information fail. 4096" error message using DVD Fab Decryptor and get an error at VTS_03_0.IFO when using DVD Decryptor. Anyone know how to get around this? The rest of the series backed up fine, Can't get Vob Blanker to get through analysis phase either.

@keyrom
Keep burning your Shrink files with Nero. You're using the best version of each proggy. If you do decide to to do DLs then, yes, you might want to try ImgBurn over Nero.
