Hi there,
Specs:
DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0
HP DVD Writer 630c (with latest firmware ch16)
Philips Double Layer DVD+R (8x)
I'm using double layer media for the first time. In the past I've always used DVD Shrink and burned many many movies succesfully. I tried burning a FULL movie now since I have double layer media. I first use "Read" in Decrypter followed by "Write" and I can't seem to get past writing the lead-in. I always end up getting a "Session Fixation Error Writing Lead-In".... essentially making a coaster. I've tried repeatedly and have made many coasters now. I even tried burning using Nero and got past burning the first layer and screwed up during the second layer.
My burner (HP 630c) clearly states it's a dual layer burner. Could anyone please let me know what I'm doing wrong? Is my media not compatible with my burner? Am I using crappy media?
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

W 10:41:21 User has ignored layer break options!
And that media has to go!
99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

I'm a newb.
What does " User has ignored layer break options"?
Also, when you say: "Media has to go", you mean all of my media? Whattype of DL media do you use?

This is most likely your problem. Try some verbatim DVD+R DL media. Don't trust anything except verbatim when it comes to DL media.

hi :)
Quote: W 10:59:07 Failed to Write Sectors 0 - 31 - Power Calibration Area Is Full
Power Calibration is controlled by the recorder.
Before any write operation, all recorders must do a 15 step power test to determine the optimum power for writing to the DVD/CD;
this is called "Optimum Power Calibration"(OPC). During the write, it continues to do this test to get the best write
throughout the whole DVD/CD; this is called "Running Optimum Power Calibration" (ROPC).
This whole process is controlled by the recorder, though initiated by programs such as Nero.
There is an area on the inner part of the DVD/CD for the test and test data info to be stored.
You can use this area up to 999 times.
If you receive the "Power calibration error" or "Power calibration area is (amost) full" error message,
the cause will be either poor media, poor power, or a defective recorder.

yep as said, not nice
Quote: E 11:06:26 Finalise Disc Failed! - Reason: Invalid Field in CDB
'Invalid Field in CDB' error when burning.
Either the copy process stopped because the writer ran out of data (connection lost to the pc) or the DVD/CD you want to copy might contain corrupt subchannel dat
