For those of you who has played on XboxLive with the 360 and modded the games you played, have you had any trouble on Live. I have a theory about the people at Microsoft: They are NOT idiots! What if they made it so if you modded the 360 and played on Live, after they catch you, they ban the actual 360, not the credit card. After all, the 360 has a MAC address and other ID, why can't they just ban that. If anyone has been banned on a game (regular xbox game AND/OR 360 game), post which game you were banned from, and if you were able to get back on with a different credit card or any other means. Please post soon, this is what will decide if I get the equipment needed to mod.

Do you know when they will start to do something about it? And what will that something be? Any guesses?

I think if there isn't a fall dashboard update with ability to ban I don't think ever will be. Not that I don't think MS could do it, it's just I don't think they are be that worried about the hack. When people can mod games on Live is when they really have to act fast.

The only question I have, is if they will ban the 360, the username, or credit card. Then I will mod (if they don't ban the 360).

Ok, if someone could email Microsoft (I know it sounds crazy) and ask them, that would be cool. Use anonymous proxy servers to do it (I can't get mine to work). If I ever get my proxy servers to work, I'll do it, but in the meantime, please someone, EMAIL.

Your reaction is exactly why I said to use anonymous proxy servers, that way they can't track you. Some people...

C'mon, 1st of all anyone can be traced on the internet. Proxy servers can't protect you if the people running them get hit with a court order to release what IPs have trafficed through there. 2nd, you surely can't think they'd say, "Go ahead and play burned games on Live as long as you want. It's all good."[/bold] or something to that affect. It's one to played a hacked console. It's a whole different ball game to in a nutshell say to MS directly, "Yeah I'm playing burned games. I dare you to do something about it."

For the proxy server, I know, but I seriously doubt they are going to be able to get a court order. And for the email, they might give some clue or post something on their site to indicate when and how they will be dealing with modders.

I say why tempt fate when the chances are beyond minute that they would show their hand to some stranger who sends them an email through a proxer server? If you were that curious you could always send them an email from a library.
