I keep hearing stuff about this method of a broadband adapter and a way to stream a game over my computer's network card to the gamecube and play it. Sounds like it could work ub tthe way i think of it would be that the gamecube would have to be running some sort of program on itself to allow the streaming to come through, show the video and sound right and allow me to play it. I have phantasy star online already, i need the cross over cable, BBA, and i have 3 memory cards already,(2 regular size) and one fatty size 256 one. Anyway i would like to know if anyone whas done this and wants to tell me how and how this streaming of the game actually works

You are trying to figure out how it works the Phantasy Star streaming method right.Well this is how it works and I'm going to keep it as short as possible.The first thing you do is store a program on your memory card (PSUL or PSOLoad).The programs have there own dns server built into them,which was programmed.You setup your connection using the specific settings supplied for the program that runs the dns server.Start up Phantasy Star Online and click on the Online option.It shows a starfield screen for a minute or so,and once it tries to connect the program initiates off the memory card.The program starts the built in dns server,and if you have your settings right it should connect.Once connected you have the ability to run executable code.You can find more information by reading the supplied text files located in these programs.It works pretty good and I still use it.

You need a PC>GC game server program(Phoenix is the most user-friendly one out there), PSO E1&2(not PSO Plus), the BBA and either a crossover cable or a patch cable and a router.

From there, you just configure some network settings in your Gamecube, a couple things for the PC, load up phoenix, start up PSO, launch an online game, the PC acts as a virtual gateway, streams the loader back to the gamecube, and you're in business.

it doesn't stream the AV to the gamecube, but rather the game data on the disc, which includes the audio and video files. It just usurps the gamecube's own loading methods, in favor of a net stream, thanks to an exploit in PSO's codebase.

yeah i always remembered that pso always put extra stuff on my memory card. Not just saves but other stuff. I have another question. I bought a ps2 BBA and it gave me a cable. Could i use that instead of buying another expensive crossover cable. The cable it uses was a cable that plugged into the ethernet part of the BBA and into my router and it worked. So can i use that same calbe which is just like any other cable, its not specially made for the ps2 and plug that into the gamecube BBA and just use that.

A crossover cable is completely different than a regular straight cable.If you look at the ends on a crossover cable the colors are not the same,but if you look at a straight cable the ends are exactly the same.You should use a straight cable only if you intend to use a router if not then you should use a crossover cable.I recommend using a crossover cable,but you can use a straight cable.

So what are all the files needed to run this exploit? And also what do i do when swapping, shound i modify the lid switch?

You don't do any swapping, when using the BBA streaming method. Take a look at the stickied topics for a general how-to of the streaming, and go hunt around on here for the tools you need.

What you'll need is the Phoenix 2.45 installer, then the 2.50 executable, which you just extract over the original, and have fun. :)
