is there any difference between the old black eyetoy camera and the new silver one?
i was just wondering becuase in the news games that it comes in you can fit about 4 people in the screen.
can it take wider shots or something?

Yeah, the colour. Apart from that, no difference. Its only so you can keep your accessories colour co-ordinated if you have a silver PS2.

They both do. Its built in to the unit in case you want to use it as a webcam/capture device on a PC.
There is NO difference between the 2.
You most likely saw a pic of someone playing a 'Singstar' type game that needs an EyeToy & Microphone (both bought separately)

they are both the same , the only difference is : if you see four people playing a game they have the lens exstender, it comes with eye toy kinetic (great game)it lets the camera view a larger area

it comes bundled with the game, I've never seen it sold seperatly, you can buy the game on ebay for a reasonable price, $30.00
