This is a problem that I had when I first built my computer (about 13 months ago), then it disappeared, and now it's back once again. Basically, I have two drives in my machine, both SATA -- my HDD and my DVD+R/RW. Unfortunately, for no good reason, Windows XP Pro decides to show those as "Safely Removeable Hardware", and I have the little icon in my system tray. Now, I've never (and likely will never) try to remove these drives through software (I don't know if it'd hurt anything, and I doubt it would, I just don't wanna take the chance), but the fact that I always have those icons bothers me to no end. I'm always thinking to myself "... did someone leave a usb drive in my computer?". Does anyone know of a way to tell Windows to not show that icon just because I have my Hard Drive and DVD Drive plugged in? Thanks in advance.
