I Keep getting the error message while using DVD Shrink with The Da Vinci Code. I am trying to compress the DVD9 movie to fit on a DVD-R, and I get the error message: "DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Programming error - exception occurred". this error ALWAYS occurs at the 53% mark. Any ideas ho to get by this? I have read many posts about this problem with OTHER movies, and the answer EVERY SINGLE on of them is provided is to "Just run it through DVD Decryptor. This will not work for e, as this Movie is not even out on disc yet to do this with. I have the 7.7GB .mdf Image file that I used UltraISO to extract into the VIDEO and AUDIO TS folders. Now that I have all of the data in the VIDEO_TS folder, I am trying to use DVD Shrink to reencode it, but the error pops up. Any Ideas?

any encryption? you can run it through dvdfabdecrypter without a disk. just select your file on your harddrive. then i'd suggest VobBlanker. then shrink. let us know what happens.

LOL. Nope. I boycott Chinese Sites. Damn Communists. Usenet. I will try RipIt4Me. I get the distinct feeling this is packed with ridiculous amounts of DRM being from Sony. I figured that from the beginning, but I did not expect THESE difficulties.

Ah! As mentioned before, Ripping Utilities will not help, as this is NOT THE DISC. The Disc is not available ANYWHERE for another couple months. This is the Image, and RipIt4Me will only handle discs. I need a proggie that will analyze a VIDEO_TS folder and remove encryption or Bad Sectors so that I can burn the VOB's to disc.

Please edit out your email addy, it is against the forum rules and you don't want a mod coming along and doing it for you. Use the edit button on the side of the yellow bar that looks like a pad and paper:)

xfile102,
You mentioned this was an image file. If it is an iso file you might try WinRAR to change the image files to a format that can then be used so you can decrypt it.

It was an .mdf that I extracted with UltraISO to a VIDEO_TS folder.

Question. How can I convert PAL to NTSC? I know that I can do so with a combination of TMPEG and about 4 other programs, over the course of several HOURS or DAYS, But using TMPG requires consumers to have a computer the equivelent of a CRAY Supercomputer, and takes like 4 hours even with that much power. I rememeber having to do this like 2 months ago, and was able to use a REALLY common tool and it took like 25 minutes. Anyone out there know how?

Quote: Use VobBlanker it will convert.
Does it actually convert to NTSC or does it just trick the player into thinking it's NTSC?

I use the word convert as that is what is in the program, it may be a trick but it does work. There are other programs also, perhaps you can give a better program to use.

If you actually physically had the DVD, you probably wouldn't have much of a problem....
