Ok, i have printed and read the FAQ bin/que and done a search in this forum and no hits for modifying or editing a .bin file.
so, this is my question: I have a bin/cue Drive Image 7 i wanted to add my raid drivers to the bin; then, burn the bin/cue so it will autoboot like it should for disaster recovery any ideas on what program and how to do it? I have been checking the Net with no luck on how to do this.
ISOBUTER will extract .bin files! then you can do what you want to extracted files! and burn!
NOTE!
to autoboot is something else! and has to be done say in Nero with cdrom(boot) format and i think you must set NO EMULATION? and there are other settings! this will be trial and error - use cdrw discs!
Thanks guys. After constant looking i found that WINISO will allow me to modify the .bin without extracting so i can get the autoboot feature when i burn the cue/bin to cd-rom.
I'm not sure if i should start another thread but it is along the same lines of my original question.
I added some RAID drivers and a file called txtsetup.oem to the area where I saw other supported drivers on the .bin hoping that i could get my RAID drivers recognized when in autoboot disaster recovery mode but when i rebooted from the modified .bin cd-rom I got a message stating "txtsetup.oem caused and error" and then I have to reboot.
Gosh, this may be more simple question but, what file should i modify to get the installer to recognize the txtsetup.oem file as being like the other textsetup.oem files with drivers that are nativly supported?
OK, i have raid and the drivers you talk or txtsetup.oem are used when you fresh install winXP half way through the setup program winXP asks for these drivers so it can load raid to the 2 drives! i use raid and on my last install i had them on a floppy ready from the driver disc from the motherboard! (need other computer to get them!) as the one you are loading i wiped by formatting useing winXP (NTFS)
But first i put them in a folder tree one step down! say A:\rotary\txtsetup.oem
it should of been A:\txtsetup.oem !!!!
after doing that they loaded! and it didnt error reboot on me!
NOW! there are more than one file! there were 3 or 4 cant remember how many now?
Yep, those are the files I'm talking about. The new Drive Image Disaster Recovery Disk does not immediately "see" my RAID config. If I hit F6 while it is booting (exactly like when you install Win XP) then I can put a floppy with the 4 files you spoke of and yes DI7 will boot and see my drives, but what I want to do is not have to use a floppy to do that. I was hoping to find a the file in the DI7 disk and point it to the folder I made in the I386 folder where the other driver folders are and tell the program to install my RAID drivers automatically. Sad, that DI2002 always saw my drives and the new version won't without messaging. It is supposed to make IT life easier but it isn't making my easier, LOL.
