no im not banned, my xbox is banned. i can sign on my xbox 360 with the same account and ittl be fine. but if i try siginin on with me xbox itll say cannot sign on cuz i have HARDWARE MODS
it says nothing at all about modded maps. i deleted thm i still cant get on. my friend has had mods for months tht i gave him and he can still sign on perfectly, just not play matchmaking.
i cant even sign on my god damn xbox.
so dont say tht the mods banned my account because like i said, my xbox 360 uses the same account and it works fine.
ive deleted them ods too and it still doesnt work.
all i really wanna kno is if they just like ip banned my xbox or sometin
or is there a way to unban myself at least

Doesn't he need a new hard drive too.. I'm pretty sure they ban your eeprom and your hard drive serial. So if you only get a new eeprom and go on xbox live, the new eeprom will get banned too. I think that's how it is..

Ah, the marriage theory, correct?
In truth, only the EEPROM is banned. However, it's also true that the EEPROM and hard drive serial are married. The Xbox Live account itself is never banned.
Meaning, if you play on XBL using the stock hard drive and upgrade afterwards, you'll be banned. The reason? The serial numbers don't match. However, keep in mind that EEPROM and serial aren't listed on XBL from the get go. Only after you sign up and play. So if you upgrade the hard drive before you ever use that EEPROM on Xbox Live, you'll be fine.
Additionally, if your EEPROM is banned, your serial number isn't. So like theridges said, you can just get a new EEPROM and be fine. Problem, unless you know what you're doing this is a very easy way to ruin a soft modded Xbox. Not much of an with a hard modded one, since most issues can be resolved as long as you keep back-ups of all your vital information.

Yeah I was talking about the marriage theory. Couldn't remember the name of it :P. My bad I thought you needed to replace the hard drive too xD.

Nah, I just know a lot of general information.
The only reason I know about the marriage theory is because way back when I used to play Mechassault and PSO on XBL, I had planned on swapping EEPROMs with a buddy since mine got banned. I ended up not doing it because shortly afterwards I found out many of my game saves are actually tied to the EEPROM, and by switching it I would have to replay all of them.

Actually, you don't have to replace the hard drive, only the EEPROM. Simply changing the EEPROM should work fine.
The point I was trying to get at was that if you swap hard drives and try to use an EEPROM that has already been used on XBL with a different hard drive, that EEPROM will be banned since the hard drive serial numbers don't match. Hence, the marriage theory.
