Hi there,

I'm after some suggestions for sorting out a problem with my laptop firewire connection. I have trawled this forum and investigated the various avenues offered, but to no avail as yet. Some of the related threads were so close, yet the procedure either didn't apply, or was not compatible (particularly the excellent post from moiself - for some reason my unit / registry is different.
I have a fujitsu-siemens S-5582, it's a nice little beast, PIII 800, 256Megs ram. All its firmware and drivers are up to date. I'm running Windows XP Pro SP1 with all updates installed.
I have tried my dvd 200e with mixed results. I can read data from a disc (CD or DVD)with no problem. But when recording to it - i.e burning a Disc, it will lock up and fail, causing a Blue screen crash with no mercy. There is no set time period for this lock up - it seems random. The writing will begin for a time, and then BAM, out to the Blue screen. It doesn't matter either if I'm using Nero or the software that came with the burner.
Note, the burner works using a USB connection.
Any help or ideas will be greatly appreciated.
