hi everyone i played one of my back-ups on my ps2 and the screen was grey so what can i do to stop this plz help thanks.

Sounds like you're trying to play a backup from a region other than your own. ie; PAL game (Euro) on an NTSC TV/PS2 (US/JAP).
Use forum search to look for more info on PAL2NTSC or NTSC2PAL, depending on where you are & what region the game is, since you don't specify, then I cant determine which one, but I'm sure you'll work it out.
