If you have been looking in this forum for na answer to the little buggy "Motorola USB" driver, mostly used for motorola cell phones with Mobile Phone tools, I can tell you I had the exact same problem, and after experimenting a bit, I think I can give you the information I have gathered.
When you install the motorola USB driver everything works like heaven for the first time, unless you have other drivers giving you problems like BlueTooth Modem drivers or Wrong uninstallation of modem drivers.
You may get some of the following symptoms.
No matter what driver you use, you only get "Motorola USB Driver" instead of all the devices the old Mobile Phone Tools 2 used to install, this is because (as far as I've noticed) those drivers had to be updated in order to run Mobile Phone Tools 4 or later, and even windows has updated some information about usb drivers to prevent an excess of drivers to be installed, that's why you only get one driver.
Another symptom is that when you try to reinstall the USB Driver, you get a:
"required section was not found in the INF"
Why? you uninstalled everything, and you even did a little bit of work on the registry and on inf files.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE TRIED TO UNINSTALL THE DRIVER BEFORE GOING ON
And my friend, that is when a little problem happened.
You get this error when the "drivers section" meaning, the definition of "what kind of driver" you are installed, got deleted, dumped, forgotten into oblivion... meaning that you or a program deleted the definition of what a "modem driver" is in the registry.
To restore this "definition" first you need to rebuild the "modem" section (if you actually deleted it) To know if you DID delete it, go check the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class
(where ControlSet001 is the ControlSet you are trying to edit, normally it is ControlSet001 so if you don't know what I'm talking about, just go to the key I say) and you will see several keys called (or very similar to):
{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
just browse on those values, and normally between "MONITOR" and "MEDIA" you should have a "MODEM" class if you do not have them, then the modem definition set is gone.
(ONLY DO THE REG KEY next to this line ONLY IF YOUR MODEM SECTION IS GONE!)(messing with the registry can damage your computer permanently so do it at your own risk)

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E96D-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}]
"Class"="Modem"
@="Módems"
"Installer32"="mdminst.dll,ClassInstall32"

save it as 'rebuildmdm.reg' and save it somewhere.
Execute the reg file to add the keys to your registry and reboot your computer.
Now. let's say that even when you have rebuilt the MODEMS section, you still can't install the modem and you get the same error. Now it is something as simple as missing INF files.
All you have to do is to make sure that you have a copy of usbcdcmot.inf and usbmot2000.inf inf your WINDOWS/INF directory.
What? you think it won't work? give it a try ;)
now, after you place those files try to install your Motorola USB Driver again, if it fails again, just reboot one more time and retry.
There, your modem should be working now.
Also, you may need to change the permissions on the registry for the definition of the Motorola V(place your model here) (in my case V551) phone, and add permitions of full control to everyone on the registry key where the driver is defined
How to know where it is? just search for your phone model on the registry and you'll see what I'm telling you about
Also, if you ever tried to delete a reg key and got a "ACCESS DENIED" message, well.. just assign permissions to everyone and there.. joy... you can delete your registry key but a good advise is stop deleting random registry keys. heh.
OH!!! AND SOME BONUS FOR PEOPLE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH BLUESOLEIL
Do you have bluesoleil? did you have also problems with the USB modem driver in bluesoleil? did you get your installation stuck when installing "Bluetooth Modem" well.. guess what? the instructions I just gave you about the Motorola USB driver, is the same problem that you are having with your installation.
Make sure your MODEM section in the key I mention above exists and that all the required INF are in the right place and make sure you don't need to change permissions to the related registry keys.
