does anyone know if there is word of dvdshrink ever being updated, hacked, or otherwise taken over to continue it's development?

also, I am now ok with removing FBI warnings and trailers using VobBlanker, but I still think there must be an easier way to do it in dvdshrink. so my question is this:
when I click on an FBI warning in dvdshrink, and I tell it to replace with a still image, I use a simple black png file (image). however, when the disk is burned, it still plays that for as long as it would have played the FBI warning. I realise it saves space, and can be skipped with my remote control, but isn't there some way shrink can just remove that?

or, if not, can anyone tell me the fastest way to use VobBlanker. I have set to 'use input folder' but it still takes a while, plus I have to use dvdFAB to rip it to the hard drive in the first place.
thx

No, it will never be updated, as the people who made DVD Shrink made Nero recode for money.

And u cant totaly remove the fbi warnings with shrink just replace them with a still image like you said.

How long is it taking to run VobBlanker?
it should take only 3-5 mins for VobBlanker to do its thing. thats not that long. Plus even if u just take out the fbi, trailers it still cleans all the files and puts them in the right order for shrink to work better

If you know what your doing (what your looking for), it shouldn't take more than 2 or 3 minutes to blank out unwanted junks (FBI Warning, useless trailers, etc.) and when it's ready, it "should not" take any longer than 5 minutes to PROCESS the "VIDEO_TS.IFO" file.

I've been using VobBlanker for ages, all of my backups played and still play flawlessly. Never experiences any playback issues whatsoever, not to mention VobBlanker will "correct/fix" any corrupted cells, vts, pgc, ec. boldly.

Good luck to all and happy burning.

Well, I guess I don't know what I'm doing then because it takes vblanker about 10 minutes to process on my new Dell D820, SATA, 1GB RAM, dual core.

I open the ripped files up, check use input folder, and blank out the stuff I don't want, then click 'process'. What am I missing, to speed it up?

@gollumn

Give my new revised "DVDFAB + VobBlanker + DVD Shrink + ImgBurn" guide a shot, here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/334154 Just follow the steps closely and you'll be fine (i.e. VobBlanker), I've detailed some very basic steps on how to blank out unwanted FBI Warnings , Trailer/Previews, etc.

Good luck and happy burning.
