Reason I wonder this is cuz I read this part of a review of LiteOn Ltr-522246S and they test ability with copy-protections and note that its mentioned a 3-sheep test which LiteOn didnt pass but the Toshiba did:

What does this mean ?

He says that it is unlikely that the Toshiba will fail with future protection...

I dont understand this...

Is the Toshiba one better ?

If we examine the link carefully, we see the Toshiba SD-R 5002 can read& write weak regular patterns of the Safedisc cd protection beyond what the Litey can accomplish but the Litey is confirmed to backup the latest Safedisc 2.9 easily. Remember that backups of Safedisc 2.x are "modified" and not "true" backups m8. If you're looking into the future for a dvd burner, then wait for the Litey dvd 4\8x hardware test as I'm persuaded these will give you better overall performance. I'm wondering how fast that Toshiba can rip a dvd to the hd? Example, my Litey LTD 165\166 dvd-roms can rip a dvd about 11-12x. be patient and wait m8 as your Litey is one hell of a burner, audio ripper, superior dae too!
