Try to limit what's running in the background to give you more memory.

Hey crazyman1

Let's update Nero to 6.6.0.18. Use these links:
Package 1
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Ner....0.18_no_yt.exe

Package 2 (recode & vision)
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

Free up any memory you can as dialysis1 suggested. No multi tasking and close any programs you can.

For the TY's you are using - check the back of them for this code by the inner hub (may need a magnifying glass :) ) :
GD00xxxx The x's represent a #. Verifies that these a the real deal TY.
Since these are 4x I would burn them no higher than 4x.

Try that and let's see how it goes.

Ah ok the Maxell's!

Update the Nero - it's an older version and there have been quite a few fixes since the version you are using. You're getting the Unspecified target error again.
An update - even if the burns fails again may give us a better error message instead of this generic one.

Try that 1st. Can also try imgburn to burn this movie.

If you have a can of compressed air - may want to blow out the drive a bit and clean up the lens.

There sure is crazyman1.
You'll burn that video_ts folder Shrink saved to your hard drive using this guide.
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/383878

If you need ImgBurn - here's a link to download:
http://imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
If you still need help just post back.

Also press the 'L' key to create a log before you being.

I'd still do the Nero update too.

Ok keep us posted.

In Shrink when you click 'backup' pick your burner under 'select backup target'. Sounds like the option is set to 'hard drive folder' now.
Able to update Nero to 6.6.0.18?

That's the free ripper than you can use to rip the files to your hard drive than open in Shrink to process.

or should i stick with DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.8.3

For right now just cause 3.0 is beta & for you to be on the safe side - I'd stick w/ 2.9.8.3. Fengtao seems to be working out some bugs - there has been a few beta versions w/ no new release. Not bad - at least he's trying to get it right.

Worse case run them thru VobBlanker after ripping w/ DVD Fab Decrypter then open those files in Shrink (ones processed from VobBlanker). Only a few more minutes really.
Here's a guide if you need:

Hmmm up to date on the regular system maintenance stuff like - disc cleanup, system defrag, virus/spyware scans?
If not run those too 1st.

On the cleaning bit on the drive just blow some air in there - nothing to heavy duty. It's a little older - not bad at all - just dust can accumulate and sometimes cause problems.
Might not have to b/4 you burn but if you haven't done it recently may want to open the case and clean out any dust in there also. Can get quite dusty!

I remember the stand alone bit :)
Adaware should be fine - each spyware program pick up something different but adaware is good.
Even though you only use it for burning dvd's if you connect to the internet at times on it always good to keep the defenses up.

You'd be surprised at how much your hard drive will become fragmented when ripping movies. I run one at least 1x at week along w/ everything else.
Always good imho to try and keep things as clean as possible - less headaches :)

Hopefully this next burn will be good - Scary Movie 2 (or any of them) have nothing special -so the problem is in the burn stage.
Keep us posted

i just ran adaware and Spybot search & destroy and it found all kinds of crap. the last thing to do is the defrag. after all this i think i will let everything sit over night and try the burn tomorrow.

Can't blame you there on waiting til tomorrow.
Clean up the pc and do the defrag -while this is not guaranteed to now have a successful burn it sure does help to minimize and rule out other possibilities.
If you are not running antivirus & a firewall on that pc try AVG & ZoneAlarm - both have free versions that I use on 1 pc.
