from what I hear crystal chip is a good chip but isn't it one of the more expensive mods?

I am not sure which Crystal chip is good but from what I have seen it looks simple enough to do.

Question of confirmation I am looking for is the correct version and what chip would be best for my ps2 console. I pulled this information off another site.

"PS2 v14

SCPH-75001 (for North America)
The motherboard is a bit different from last SCPH-70011/70012/70001 versions.

Model Number: SCPH-75001 US, Console Version updated: v14, Main Board updated: GH-037-01, Laser Lens Number: PVR-802W, BiOS Part Number: B6120B D0020U, and DVD Control IC: SONY CXD 716080."

My PS2 console is Model No. SCPH-75001 NTSC. I assume correctly that it is a v14 console. It is of course the slim model.

What would be the BEST chip for this? Multi-disc boot, backup playing, cd-r, DVD-R, etc? Not too worried about if I have to pay $50 or so for a good chip. It is much easier than paying money again for the 20 titles I have purchased that kids will tear up.

Also and most importantly, who is a good and reliable online source to order this from? I have ordered from one company before and took forever and way too much trouble.

And it looks possibly like the Crystal Pro might be the best one to use? Any ideas on this?

Thanks,

Flandrel
