Hi,

I have insalled the modchip DUO 3 and the neo fix on the PS2 (V14. It is working fine but after 45 mins of play, if I try to play another backup, the PS2 will not recognize it. I noticed that the PS2 is getting hot and that the LED of the DUO 3 is going off after 45 mins. If I switch off the PS2 and open the covers and let it cool down for 5 mins, then it starts reading backups again. Has anybody experienced this problem. Note: I fixed the DUO 3 module on the board just a few centimeters above the port of the 2nd joypad.

Thanks.

stand the ps2 up as this will increase heat dispersion also, you could get a fan and have it blowing right at the ps2.

But is this normal that the PS2 (V14) gets that hot. Does any one had the idea where can I place the modchip so that it will not overheat and switch off?

I've seen quite a few people have overheating problems. The slims don't have a nice huge fan like the older ones (that's one reason why they were able to make them small) and I'm sure installing a mod produces even more heat which makes it even easier to overheat. I can't help you with the placement of the mod but I would suggest to keep it away from any big ICs (i'm sure you probably already did that).

I managed to find a good place for the MOD Chip that will not make it overheat and shut off. The exact place is near the USB connector 2, exactly near the place of the NEO Fix. I tested the PS2 for over 4 hours and it worked fine. Thanks for the help.
