Used Mac the Ripper on Powermac to burn DVD+R DL copies of movies. Not playing on Portable DVD player or on stand alone DVD player, but will play on standard PC. Manual for Panasonic DVD-LS91 Portable DVD player says it will not play back movies burned from a PC. Is there any other way to burn copies of movies and play them back. We are taking a 16 hour flight this week with our small child....HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The most likely problems are:

1. The media you are using. Use only Verbatim for DLs (for future reference, only use Verbatim or media that is Made-in-Japan for regular burns as well.)

2. If the above doesn't solve the problem, your drive might not be booktyping/bitsetting the DVD+R discs to DVD-ROM. I don't know what tools are available for the Mac but see if there's a way to determine that with your software or find a friend running Windows and have him run DVDIdentifer or Nero CD/DVD speed. It should report DVD-ROM somewhere (maybe in addition to being DVD+R, which is what your DVD's really are, but the purpose of bitsetting it to trick old and poorly-designed devices into thinking you have a commercial DVD-ROM disc.)atever software you are burning with

-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.
