Ive got a NTSC ps2 with PAL mod chip.
ive burned a PAL game on a dvd media and it didnt even read it.(Silver Line DVD+R X8 media)
ive burned the same game on cd rom media(unknown media :S) (the game is about 600MB) and it showed the starting screen whenever the ps2 reads a game ("Playstation2") and then it just freezes on a black screen.
is it a problem of the media? or is it the format of the game? maybe the ps2?
how can i fix this?
First of all, ditch those Silver Line media. They aint gonna work for PS2 backups cos they're crap. Always use good Grade A media; Verbatim, Sony, RITEK G05. And you're better off with DVD-R as you don't need to booktype those.
Secondly, if the game is 600Mb, chances are it's a cd based game anyway, but since you haven't posted what game it is, then I can't tell for sure. If it is, then that would also explain why it didnt boot on DVD. All games have media checks in them, so you cant just burn a CD image to DVD & have it work. You'd of needed to change the media checks with DVDScan Lite. Same goes for if it's actually a DVD game image.
You'll need to post back with the game name to be sure.
Thirdly, since you've got a NTSC PS2, then I'll assume you're in an NTSC region with an NTSC TV. So the other problem you'll run into is that a PAL game will not display on the screen properly as they run in 50Hz. Your TV displays at 60Hz, so the game would need patched with a PAL2NTSC (with Y-Fix) patcher.
So, your next post will need to give the info on what game your trying to burn before anything else can be dealt with to resolve your problem.

the ps2 is from USA im from Israel, so ive got NTSC ps2 in a PAL region
Edit: ok it works now, the problem was the burning speed, i burned it on X4 this whole time, now i went for the X2.4 and it worked.
