I looked it up on the net, but have found that you gt a biased response depending on the site that you find. So, what burner/format is better +R or -R? If anyone has a link to a non-biased opinion I would appreciate it. Or even just a comment on whatever personal experiences any may have had.

Thx in advance,
Fin

My $0.02-

I do own a DVD-R burner. Works great for me; I have no complaints. From what I've seen, DVD+R seems to be a little better; especially when it comes to +RW.

Now keep in mind what happened 15 years ago with VHS and Beta. Beta was superior but VHS won out because of the fact it became the standard. The same thing seems to be happening. The stand alone DVD burner I just bought uses DVD-R. This is the standard for most stand alone recorders (kinda like a DVD VCR.) Once these become mainstream, the price of media will go down a lot more, and because +R will be more expensive, fewer people will be using it.

All the bruning info you need to start is here: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/userguides/141024.php#dvd9dvd2one

I recently purchased a dvd+r burner, and it has not let me down since. While DVD-R seems to be more compatible (87% compared to 82%) with dvd players, id stick with the dvd+r because of the newer technology.

-R is more compatible than +R, though some say +R is a slightly better result. Who knows for sure. maybe this bit of info might help you make your decision:
