HI all,

First of all thank you for your help.
I am new at this and need some expert advice.
I keep getting a BSOD with a 000000x8E error.
A friend of mine in IT wants to take a look at the dump screen. I need to know how to retrieve a mini dump and a complete dump to show him, and any of you if you are interested. Please let me know what all I need to do to get it printed out, and/or send it in here for help. The computer dumps at least 5 times a day, and it is driving my wife crazy. You all know how that can be, I am sure.
Thanks again

It should be saved in "%SystemRoot%\Minidump"

The path of the folder where the dump is stored is %SystemRoot%\Minidump, according to ZIZI88. To go there quickly, copy and paste the path in start -> run and click OK. Or go to windows explorer, and in the address bar, copy-paste the above path, ok?
If you still have any doubt, then FYI, %systemroot% means the windows installation folder which is usually C:\WINDOWS
If you have more than one OS on your computer. then the windows folders would be on different partitions (C:\ and D:\ in MY case)

ZIZI88, please edit the doublepost. It'll look nice if you do so ;-)

I tried both ways and I either get File path does not exist or the syntax is wrong. I just typed in .dmp into search and got a ton of them. Is there a program I need to open a .dmp file?
thanks again!
