PS2 not playing Doom DVD

I have had my PS2 for around 3 years now and it has always been fine. But when i bought Doom on DVD it won't play it just spends a lot of time reading the disc. So i thought it was something wrong with the PS2 but it plays all my other DVD's fine.So i think it may be a new technology used on the disc but i'm not sure. So has anyone had a problem like this before and if so how did they fix it?

isit a pirate i dont think ps2 play any dvds other than the silvers ones but im not sure is it the same colour as your other ones?

No its brand new and it is the same colours as the other discs. There is no scratches on the disc either . I am starting to think the DVD must be made in a different way than the others are.
