I just noticed the Make X33.bin file in my extreme folder is just a shortcut icon and I cant seem to find the full exe of Make X33.bin
Is this what you guys have is it just a shortcut icon or should there be an exe instead? have I downloaded a poor file?
Thanks

make sure you have the following 4 files in a folder
xtreme33.bin
x360sam.exe
orig.bin
makex33.bin.pif
click on make33.bin and it will create a file called x33.bin

Yes, thats all of them
make a folder on your desktop
put the following 4 files in that folder
xtreme33.bin
x360sam.exe
orig.bin
makex33.bin (msdos shortcut)
click on make33.bin and it will create a file called x33.bin

Hi Guys,
This is odd, I tried on the lap top too and ran the Dos Shortcut and no x33.bin file appears?
Could there be something wrong with the ORIG.bin file i took from the 360's dvd? it was a big file and I had to work from a USB stick as its 1024 kb and wouldnt go onto a floppy?
Thanks again

Hi Guys,
I think what i did when i read the drive was actually read my CD on the PC and save its info...
When i run mtkflash r/m /sata orig.bin or even without the /sata the CD on the PC lights up and appears to be working??
If i power off the 360 and do it the same happens?/ so ive not even acceed the 360 DVD.
So I disconected the PC's CD from the IDE and now I get no drive found?
I looked on the no drive found thread and it was no help.
My chipset is on an ASROCK board and is and nvida 410, it says this works in the PDF file if I use ther modified mtkflash which I did.
I tried to read ther 360 drive with just my sata hard drive in on port and the 360 in another and pulled out the ide CD in the PC and still get no drive found?
Any suggestions are very welcome?

Ok, your firmware is definatelty the wrong size it should be 256k disconnect all the drives from your pc this includes pc cd\dvd drives and all hardrives even your SATA one.
Connect your 360 dvd drive up to your pc but do not switch it on
boot your pc up using the floppy disk/usb pen drive etc until you get to the a:\> when there type mtkflash r /m orig.bin
Now switch on your x360 and straight away press enter on your pc keyboard. This should now backup your x360 dvd drive firmware

Hi Guys,
I think Ive done it...........Whoo Hooo!!
Ok As I mention I have the Nforce or Nvida 410 chipset so I used the adapted mtkflash file without changing it myself...
After all day of changing my bios settings etc as my sata is on board, I decided to open up the hex editor and change some of the settings in mtkflash as suggested in the tutorials,
Well it seemed to work and I got an orig.bin of 256 k and had no other dirves attached except the 360 so I figured It must be the right one..
Ran it through Make X33.bin and got my modified bin......
Then the scary bit.. the Flash update... Did it and it went in .
Xbox is back together and is playing all origonals and dvd movies as usuall so I guess I have not broken it,
I just need to get a back up now and see if it plays.
Thank you for all your support.
Regards
