DivX Playback on Phillips DVDR 3390 Help

Hi, I have a Phillips DVDR 3390 Player/Recorder and I want to play DivX files on it, can someone tell me how I go about doing this? I've tried making a Data DVD with a DivX file on it but it wouldn't play.
