Hi all,
We had our IT section insist, for whatever unfathomable reason, that we use WinDVD Creator 3 to create a project which involves still frames, video clips and synched music to various portions of the project along the way.
I initially had some quite deep reservations about using this program for the project, especially after reading about the problems others on this forum had experienced, but the IT department insisted on using the bundled software they had, rather than what I'd have preferred.
Well, two weeks into this particular project, and sure enough, the freezing problems, hanging problems and all the usual glitches we've come to associate with this piece of software have all reared their heads, to the point where now whenever we click on the project to open it, it just freezes and it is next to impossible to do anything more with it.
The computers here we're using have been upgraded to quite a good spec, and I've run other bigger programs on the machines (not while we're authoring though), without incident.
My questions for learned forum colleagues are as follows:
1) Is it possible to convert the huge amount of work already saved as a wcp file in WinDVD Creator to another format so that we can keep going using another DVD Authoring tool, and if so, what tool would you recommend using (we've invested more than a month's worth of work in this with a team of 3 people, and are nearly at completion stage as it stands now), and lastly
2) What other DVD Authoring application could you recommend we use, given that it involves the need to create & edit chapters, menus and add text overlay on some still pictures as well as what I mentioned above with the video, stills and music.
A couple of programs I've read up on include Pinnacle Liquid, ULead Movie Factory and Premiere Pro, but I'd be most grateful if anyone could help with the questions above, and also their recommendations on DVD Authoring software I could buy.
Given our time constraints (we only have another week time allotted), I'd appreciate any help or advice as soon as possible.
Many thanks,
chuk.
