i was trying to flash my box but i didnt have my xbox plugged in..it said erasing chip ..now my dvd drive is not detected and the power on the dvd drive wont come on ...what can i do ?

lol wow im sorry.

the only thing you can do is get a new drive...

to be honest- what you did was very stupid! There are 1000 ways you can mess up while flashing and thats one of the easiest errors to aviod!

Can I ask what drive you Bricked? was it your PC dvd?

Also How did it erase the drives Chip? does mtkflash have an erase command?

i bricked my dvd burner...yeah it has to erase your orig firmware then writes the new one on

Ahh I see,
Can you not reflash with the burners FW then?

A bummer all the same, thankfully it wasnt the 360 drive eh...

you can reflash the drive just download the correct firmware for it and reflash using the latest version of mtkflash

I may have been quite lucky myself as when I first tried to flash my 360 it was actually grabbing the bin file from my burner too as my sata is on my IDE, Had I not got an error in the Extreme patching software Id have probably flashed my DVD on the PC too. LOL

Luckily the PC drive is a bit cheaper to replace than a 360 drive. Im sure i read on another forum the 360 drives were a heck of a price.??
