hi, im a noob when it comes to backing up ps2 games, as ive never done it before. therefore, i have a couple of questions. i know i can backup my ps2 games with imgburn & DVD Decrypter, if i did this would i be able to play my ps2 games on the pc? or would i need an emulator? the reason for asking is my partners son is always on the ps2 & if i could play my ps2 backups on the pc, then we could both be happy:-) also, if i backed up my ps2 games to DVD-R, could i play them on the ps2 or would i need to get a modchip? my slimline ps2 plays movies from DVD-R & i was wondering if it would play ps2 games from DVD-R. any help, info, advice or suggestions are welcome. thanks, its well appreciated

u need a modchip to play ps2 games.do you think sony would just let you put in a DVD-R without using any special protection and lose billions?
as for ps2 games on pc.you cnat.people have reported getting 50fps with 2d games and full speed with 3d games.as 3d images are harder to emulate than 2d.as for the son....well youre the man of the house so just shove him off or do a 2 player

There are no working Ps2 emulators for the PC.
Therfore as stated before you will need to have a 'modified'
ps2 console and bootdisc's (swapmagic disks they must be original).
Or a modchip to play back up games.
I use swapmagic disks with a fliptop kit I installed in under 30 minutes.
(Best 40 bucks I ever spent.)
Cheers!

ok, thanks for that guys. ive got 6 ps2 emulators on a disk. they are date, nebula, playstation2, ps2 player, ps2emu & pcsx2 v0.026. i have only tried to get pcsx2 v0,026 working & it gets to the screen where you can see the 2 memory cards & the bit where you can go into the system configuration, but doesnt go any further. i downloaded the bios & everything. do you think there will be a working ps2 emulator? is there even a working(DARE I SAY IT) XB*X emulator? thanks for the help guys.. P.S i notice on a lot of torrent sites, that there are thousands of ps2 games, i take it these are for use with the modchip for ps2, since there isnt a working emulator.. P.S this ISNT for PIRACY reasons, its to play ps2 games that i OWN on the pc.

ok thanks for that he-man. i just read your post & am a little confused. when you talk about an emulator that supports dual core processors, does that mean there is a working emulator after all? i am going to build a gaming pc & was thinking of getting the amd athlon x2 4600+ windsor with a gigabyte ga-m59sli-s5 nvidia nforce 590 sli board, 2gb corsair xms2 twinx matching pair ram, ocz gamextreme 700w or thermaltake toughpower 750w psu, & a directx 10 graphics card. would this be a good system for gaming & vista? thanks P.S is there a working XB*X emulator? i have a couple but havent tried it out yet...

Looks like Disgaea, or a similar 'cute' RPG.
As for 'working' emulators, there are none. To be considered working, it would need to sustain a constant framerate, just like the PS2 does, during gameplay. Not the fluctuating rates that those pics show.
Always 1st with 100% working PS2 Online Game DNA$ IDs!!

The first is from La Pucelle, & the other two are from Disgaea. Both are really good games, but Disgaea is better, in my opinion.
