Motorola DVR doesn't record series program

Within the last 2 months my DVR sometimes does not record programs I've programmed as series due to limited disk space or something else (meaning I don't know since I'm not there when it happens). First, I got an error message saying "disk space is full.....". It was around 85%. I deleted a couple programs and it my new program recorded. A few weeks later, I got the same message, deleted some more programs and now the disk is about 60% full. Week later, it happens again, I delete some more and now disk is under 50%.

I've checked the series options and confirmed I had the correct channel, time, first run and repeats set and delete space when I select. Last Friday, I double checked the settings and confirmed the program was scheduled to record. I check back later, no recording. Called Comcast to ask if this was a known issue and it was not. My Help section in the Main Menu was not even available. This puzzled the customer rep helping me.

My DVR can record programs. The 45 minute record buffer is working. However, last week that function changed. Instead of recording from the point when I started watching that channel (up to 45 mins.), it asks me for a manual recording where I have to specify the start and end times, date and channel. What's up with that?

Has anyone experienced these kinds of issues? All insight would be deeply appreciated. Thanks.
