I have successfully copied the disc to my hard drive but it is not letting me back it up fully...it will not let me put it on the disc, i used Nero and DVD Shrink.it says out of memory, i closed everything on my computer too...Please Help
Are you getting the out of memory error when running DVD Shrink or when running Nero to burn? If the latter, post the last section of your Nero History file located in one of these paths:
It seems as though you ran of system memory. How much memory do you have in your system? Be sure to close down any programs you don't need. You need 512MB these days at a minimum to keep from running into problems.
i have 1 GB of ram....my computer is acting up though...dvd-r's can burn on my computer, but they cannot be read..it only reads original discs and dvd+rs..i need help
I cannot tell from what you posted what the firmware version is for your burner. It may need to be updated. Since you have Nero, use the Nero InfoTool and find your burner's current firmware. Click the Drive tab. The firmware version is listed on the righthand side and is labeled as the firmware version. If it is not 2.FA, then you need to download firmware version 2.1A from the link below and update your burner's firmware:
Reset your drive and communication channels as follows:
Reset the transfer modes for your IDE devices as follows:
Right click on My Computer and select Properties.
Click the Hardware tab.
Click the Device Manager button.
Click the "+" beside DVD/CD-ROM Drives.
Right click on the name of your DVD burner and select Uninstall.
Click OK.
Still in Device Manager:
Click the "+" beside IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers.
Right click on the Primary Channel and select Uninstall.
Click OK.
Right click on the Secondary Channel and select Uninstall.
Click OK.
Restart the system.
Hopefully your drive will work after doing this. Let us know how you make out.
What version of Nero are you using? The recommended versions are 6.6.0.18 and 7.0.8.2. If you're using a different version, you'll likely need to do a reinstall of a better version. Post back your version and we'll help you do that the right way.
You might try using DVD Shrink and see if that'll work. The same programmer wrote both Nero Recode and DVD Shrink.
